Up The Hill
Sometimes it’s good to break out of your normal routine. These pictures were taken right after going to the gym. Normally, after working out we turn left toward the house. But today I decided to take a right which leads up the hill to a new housing development full of construction lots. The view is really something. I could see a whole new perspective on the other side of town.
It makes me think. Breaking a routine can begin with uncertainty but ultimately shifts your point of view. You see things you normally don’t. Obviously, I’m not just talking about a different route to and from work or whatnot. I like my routines - knowing what’s expected and when to do it. A system or routine really plays a big role in the functionality of our home. However, I’ve recently learned something about myself. Normally when things don’t go how I plan, I get very frustrated and can’t think of anything other than how things didn’t go as I wished. Now when the expected changes or shifts, I try to take that moment and utilize it as an exercise. An exercise to pivot my attitude or negative thought. If you want something to be different, you have to be willing to change your behavior or routine. It’s something I continually try to work on.
